Guess who’s a graduate?! Yes, you got it right – it’s me!
Words cannot even describe how proud I am of myself, it wasn’t an easy journey and there were times where I contemplated taking some time out but I did it. I GRADUATED.
First year of University was a blur but I definitely felt like I was in my element. Campus was very familiar to me and I got involved with quite a few bits and bobs and so settling in was pretty easy for me. I also made instant connections with two girls on my course, who came to be my closest friends.
As I headed to the end of first year, I felt confident and more then prepared for second.
Second year was quite the whirlwind. I had made a friend and lost them in the same 9 months of the academic year (life was more positive without her). I piled everything but the washing machine onto my plate, but I survived and came out on top. I also began to learn a lot more about myself and how I work and what kind of people I like to surround myself with.
Second year is when quite the challenge, but it definitely helped me prepare mentally for third year.. so I thought.
My final year was definitely way tougher then I ever expected. Pretty much my whole entire world was tipped upside down, which made third year ten times even more difficult then it started out. However, I was Blessed with some of the most amazing people who shone a light on me when I really needed it. I made some friends on my course who were amazing and really motivating throughout the year.
I also remembered how strong I am as a person and that I can get through anything if I really set my mind to it. The people I was surrounded myself with in my final year let me know that I am the shizz!
MAMA I DID IT, I GRADUATED!
I did it. Not just for me though. I did it for my Mummy, who’s raised me and my siblings all on her own. To make her proud and show her it was all worth it and there is so much more to come.
For anyone who has graduate, congrats – it’s not easy and you’ve done it! Anyone going to graduate or at University, keep going and stay strong. Anyone contemplating, do it – it’s an amazing accomplishment.
