Looking for things to do in Brighton? Here is a list of different activities and attractions for you to enjoy. I have compiled a list of things to do in Brighton, whether you are interested in wandering around and finding hidden gems or you want a traditional Brighton experience.
– BRITISH AIRWAYS i360 –
First on my list of things to do in Brighton is one of my favourite attractions, the British Airways i360. The British Airways i360 gives you a panoramic of Brighton from 450ft up. The pod gives you views If you haven’t already, you should have a read of my post on the British Airways i360.
Here’s a snippet of my British Airways i360 experience – make sure to give it a thumbs up!
– CHILL BY THE BEACH –
There is something about the ebbing and flowing of the water and watching it hit the rocks that is really soothing. Although Brighton Beach is a pebble beach, it is still nice to spend a chill afternoon or evening – and sunsets by the beach are always great.
– VISIT BRIGHTON PALACE PIER –
Brighton Palace Pier is one of Brighton’s most popular locations. In the centre of Brighton Beach, the pier offers you a range of fun activities for all the family to enjoy. With an abundance of places to chose to eat from, you can start with fish and chips, move on to fresh donuts and end with some candy floss. There is also a funfair at the end of the pier and an arcade. And to top it all off, you can enjoy a view of the sea.
– TAKE A WALKING TOUR OF BRIGHTON –
You should do either an independent or guided tour of Brighton to see some of the highlights within a couple of hours. Walking tours are the perfect way of seeing a city on a budget. When travelling to new places, I usually take a self-guided tour and then top it off with either a walking food tour or just another city tour.
– EAT SOME ICE CREAM –
Whether it is the middle of winter or a beautiful summers day, you need to get grab yourself a cone or a cup. There is an abundance of places that offer you both ice cream and gelato (not as great as gelato in Italy), so you are completely spoilt for choice. I do like to keep things very basic and I usually go for vanilla or chocolate. However I was recommended trying one of Boho Gelato’s flavours and I definitely was impressed. I opted in for the Custard Cream, but I did try a spoon of their black pepper and strawberry sorbet. Whether you super experimental or a basic babe – you can’t go wrong with ice cream.
– HAVE SOME FISH AND CHIPS –
How could you not go to a seaside city and not eat Fish and Chips? As expected, Brighton has many Fish and Chip shops; both along the seafront and in the city. There a quite a few places in Brighton that offer you locally sourced, fresh fish and chips.
– HAVE YOUR CARICATURE DONE –
Would doesn’t love a cartoon version of themselves? I personally did not have mine done due to time constraints, however it is a great way to have your trip documented. Rather than buying a fridge magnet or postcards, you can have a cute photo of yourself and whoever you may have taken your trip with.
– GO ON A BICYCLE TOUR –
Bike tours are a great way of seeing a lot of a city in a short period of time. There is a company in Brighton that offer a range of tours of Brighton; from twilight tours to street art tours. You can either book and be part of a group tour or you can book a private tour. Bike tours are also a great way to get some exercise into your trip.
– GO GRAFFITI HUNTING AROUND KENSINGTON STREET –
If you’re like me and fascinated by street art, Kensington Street in Brighton is the perfect place for you to visit. In the streets surrounding Kensington Street, you will find a wide range of street art brightening up the town. One of my favourites was a colourful Zebra themed art work above a clothing store.
– NIGHTLIFE –
There are a range of clubs in Brighton, I personally haven’t been on a night out in Brighton – but with their being Universities based in Brighton, I am sure their is definitely a good nightlife scene. If you have ever been, please do let me know – haha.
