WEEK 2 IN DALIAN
So the second week in Dalian was definitely a different experience. I was used to the timetable we were running on (e.g. NO MORE JET LAG), I was used to the people on the trip and made friends with people from different countries. I felt a lot more comfortable and confident in week two. Dalian felt like home and I was happy to wonder around alone by then.
MY LITTLE MUNCHKIN!!
I met the sweetest, funniest little girl and I just wanted to bring her home with me. She was full of life with a beautiful smile and I saw a lot of me in her. She was originally from Mongolia, but was in China at a Chinese summer camp. I wish her the best in life and with a personality like hers; I know she will go far. Hopefully one day we will meet again. I literally love the kid. Quite funny, I had Joy (my Chinese friend) translate for me “You are adorable, I want to take you to London with me.” and her response was “No, I don’t want to leave. I want to take you home to live with my family.” LOOOL – I thought it was hilarious.
VISITING PIEMONT GARMENT FACTORY
We also visited an Italian garment factory which I found really interesting. I recently started a tie dye clothing line and I do want to venture into fashion design. I enjoyed learning about the how they work with companies and designers and I look forward to building a relationship with them in the future.
BONDING BONDING BONDING
Bonding time is always a fun time as cheesy as it sounds, it was just time some of us spent together when we had free time. I have to shout out Rabab who hosted everyone in her room most afternoons and evenings. This is genuinely the time we really got to know each other, have laughs and make memories. Also, in smaller groups we venture to town with each other. I enjoyed the weekend I spent shopping with some of the girls and Chris (loveliest guy – new bestie!).
LAST SUPPER (:
So the last night we all wanted to have a lovely meal together. It did not happen. Some people preferred spending time with our international friends and going out clubbing to they made other arrangement. To be honest, I did not really care. I had a great last night with the people I had gotten really close to on the trip. We went to a place called McCafe which was just off of campus. It was great company, great food and a great way to end my time in Dalian.
NEXT STOP… BEIJING!!
Lots of love,
