New Mum.

Where to even start? Its been almost 5 months of Motherhood and I am loving every moment of it. Time has flown by and honestly this is definitely an overdue post. New Mum life has been great so far and I cannot wait to see what the rest of this journey has in-store for me and my baby girl.

Motherhood has definitely changed me, and I would definitely say for the better. I have had to grow and mature quickly, because I had a little human that completely depends on me. No, I am not perfect – but I am trying to be. Everything I do, I think of how it will impact my daughter. I love being a Mum and I am the happiest I have ever been.

Being a Mum has forced me (in a positive way) to manage me time properly. Before baby, I could roll out of bed, throw clothes on and head out the door. With baby Zara, not possible. I have to be dressed and ready at least two hours before I need to leave and get baby girl ready at least an hour before. That will then give me time to feed her and change any nappies before we leave.

I have also become a lot more efficient and procrastination is not a friend of mine anymore. I need to use the 2 to 4 hour nap slots to get as much done as possible. For example, I have about 3 hours in the morning to shower, clean, have breakfast, emails and plan the day before feeding and playtime for the baby. We do have a routine that is falling into place and I love how organised and efficient life is.

I have also learnt over the last two months or so, not to take everything people say to heart. It gets really frustrating sometimes when people say that I “spoil” her or that I should put her down more often etc. Since it is only me and her for about 7 to 10 hours on most days, no one knows what we do or how long she is in my arms for. Also, I LOVE cuddle sessions with my baby. I love showing her love and being her comfort and security. Now, when people “give advice”, I know its coming from a good place but I also know that I do not need to ingest it.

What’s her name you ask? Haha. I have mentioned her name briefly.

Zara. My baby Brother (he’s 9, almost 10), picked her name. It means PRINCESS. And she truly is a Blessing and a Princess. She’s got quite the personality, makes us laugh and brings joy to everyone she’s around. She makes my heart full. I love her so much.

Baby girl.

I love being Zara’s Mum. I thank God for life and health everyday. This is the most exciting, nerve-wrecking and beautiful chapter of my life. For all MOTHERHOOD content, make sure to follow the LINK.

I have a one-year-old. I adore him more than anything (well, he’s up there with my husband) but I never signed up to be a mom so there are times where I just want to cry. I am sure and know that all moms experience these feelings so if/when you do, don’t think you’re a bad mother – just know that you are just HUMAN!

    Congrats on your little one!!

Aww, your little one is so adorable! You must be over the moon right now. Even what you’ve written probably doesn’t touch what you’re feeling. It’s magical.

Congratulations on being a mother. 🙂 Nothing can compare to it. For sure, there’d be a lot of things that will change and you might find it hard to bear with the changes, but still, everything will be worth it. Again, congratulations!

Being a mother is such a big responsibility. It can be tiring, frustrating, nerve wracking, but I would take that all in stride because of a precious baby in my arms. Your daughter is so adorable! Looking at her photo made me miss those days when my kids were still babies.

My beautiful baby (not you, Zara), I cannot wait to see what the future holds for you both. You’re doing an amazing job – there’s no manual, so if you think you’re doing the best you can, then that’s all that matters!
