It’s crazy how you can meet people and become friends instantly.

So upon arriving in Cesenatico, I was told that I would be sharing a room with Hayley and Mel. I didn’t remember either of them from last year at all so it was definitely going to be a surprise. And a good one at that – they are both absolute babes! In addition to spending most waking moments together, we had amazing before bed sessions singing at the top of our lungs – haha. Couldn’t have asked for better roomies.

Now we add Louisa into the mix – after our first day of training I remember her sitting on a table alone at dinner time alone. No one had said anything to her, but I recognised her from last year and we were Facebook friends. There was space at the top of our table next to me, so I asked her if you wanted to join and she opted in (:

From that day fourth, we were 4 amigas and a lot of the time the 3 musketeers. Spending meals, evenings, the day off and pretty much any possible time together. Genuinely because we literally just clicked. This is literally what made the two training weeks that much easier and fun.

I literally crack up everytime I think of the little things we got up to, like crashing a kids party and putting in all our requests to the DJ – haha. Or when we had a very un-classy watermelon eating competition hahaha. Honestly, these girls have been great!

Its funny how you can meet someone and instantly click. There was no awkwardness, no struggle for conversation, just constant laughter at all times. We’d be at dinner in hysterics with people baffled as so why we are laughing so much. I thought I would share this little post, because I am over the moon about having them along for the ride. It would have been a whole different training experience if I didn’t have these girls.

These lovely lasses will definitely be forever friends and not just for the summer. We will all be based in London, so it’s definitely meant to be.

That is an awesome experience. It happened to me at one of my first scientific conferences. My roommate and I must have been buddies in a previous life because we had a great time. That was 30 years ago and we still stay in touch.
