Am I the only person that falls in love with new places? Rome isn’t a new place for me, however I fall in love with Rome over and over again. I love sharing my experiences through photos, videos and blog posts and I know I will definitely be playing catch up when I get him.
At the end of August, I jumped on a plane ready for a little tour around Italy. Initially, I was meant to go to Palermo, Sicily, start at the bottom and work my way up Italy. However, I love my summer job and I was needed there so I stayed for an additional week.
However, I made it to Italy with no regrets and I am honestly loving life.
DAY 1:
Catching flights, not feelings. – I say this every time I catch a flight.
With a flight at 8.20am, my day started at 3/4am – it was tough but worth it. I started the day with a Nandos breakfast (was so freaking good) and ended it with a gelato in Rome.
When staying in Rome, Roma Termini is the best location to stay in as it is central and easy access to everything. I was lucky to stay at The Beehive which is a lovely hostel located down the road from Roma Termini Station. Upon arrival, I was welcomed with a big smile and given a tour of The Beehive. I then checked-in and was shown to my room.
My room at The Beehive was perfect! Brightly coloured, right next to the bathroom, spacious and had a super comfy bed! In truly “jet-lag” fashion, I started off by having a nap before exploring the streets of Rome.

Rome is small but so big at the same time. It is a beautiful place to wonder around and get lost. There is so much history and beautiful architecture in Rome
DAY 2:
I was actually pretty ill over night, so I didn’t leave my hostel until about 2pm. I took a trip to Tiburtina Station where a market saw in November was based and I got a cute ring so I went back for more because I left the ring in Rome – haha. I then found a wall which I thought would be a really nice background while on the way to Trastevere and ended up having a mini photo shoot. I managed to find a ledge to put my phone and camera on and used the timers, that’s the thing with travelling solo – you’ve got to be creative. After my little photo shoot, I wandered to Fontana di Trevi for a gelato and just some time to relax and reflect. It was lovely, I’m a hopeless romantic – so seeming all the couples was super cute. Especially when they were trying to get good selfies, so I offered to take photos for several couples and obviously I did a great job and made sure to give them options – haha.

My day didn’t actually end at Fontana di Trevi, I came across a building that people in tents were occupying and found out they were homeless. I won’t dive into that now though, that is for another post.
I’m in love with Rome and I know I’ll be back sooner rather than later.
Visiting Rome soon or thinking about it? Definitely have a look at staying at The Beehive if you’re looking for a cosy, homely and centrally located accommodation.
I’m shocked you were able to get such a clear photo at the fountain. Every time I have been it has been crawling with people that I had to wedge myself on the edge like the last pick spear in a jar of pickles.
WOW! Everything looks so beautiful! The architecture, environment, and food (of course). Looks like you are having a great time, and you are definitely making me want to travel to Rome.
Yay to a new post! Adore Rome and loves your posts on it before – loving your photos, especially the one by the fountain! Can’t wait to read more!

These pictures look so beautiful! I am thinking of going to Rome soon – hopefully around Christmas as I’m currently on study abroad in the UK and it would be very easy for me to drop by for a visit. The Fontana di Trevi has been on my list to see, because its so pretty and iconic! I’ve never really solo traveled but might be doing some this year.
