My second day in Venice was really chilled and I decided catch up with blogging, watch a couple movies and plan my next couple of locations. Leaving my hostel in the afternoon, I decided that I needed to ensure that I made the most of the rest of the day. I decided to go on a free walking tour with La Bussola. Definitely a great decision as my room mates were on the tour and I learnt a lot from our amazing tour guide Luigi.

The weather was awful. I’m from London and so I am used to bad weather, however – I was being drenched by water from the sky and from the ground LOL. That didn’t kill the mood though, we had a lot of laughs and really enjoyed the walking tour. Luigi told us about the history of Venice and the different places we saw. He also gave use tips on how not to get caught up in tourist traps – SO HANDY! I’ll be sharing some of these tips in another blog post.

After the walking tour with La Bussola, we went back to the hostel for dinner and got to know the rest of our roomies and other people in the hostel. As we were absolutely drenched, we also ran back to have a shower and get into some dry, clean clothes. While in our room, chilling in our beds; we were just chatting and getting to know each other. Of course, my looney tune side came out sooner rather than later – haha. Honestly, that was one of the best parts of the day. I love travelling solo, but it does get a little lonely or boring sometimes (just being real). Especially as everyone just clicked and it felt like we had been with each other for a long while.

New friends ❤

You’re never truly alone when you’re travelling solo.

    Hi Ashlee,

Your trip to Venice seems like it was a ton of fun! I have a question regarding the La Bussola tour. Did you take the Grand Tour or one of the morning or afternoon tours?

    Thank you!!
