Montego Bay. Mobay. The city I spent a couple days living my best life in.
I took my first long-haul solo flight and landed in this sunny city with beautiful beaches. I LOVE travelling solo and I was excited about what Montego Bay had in store for me. Another first I experienced from this trip was staying at an AirBnb. AirBnb’s are designed to be a home away from home, arriving at night I was a little nervous but that soon changed.
My AirBnb was located on the 12th Floor with an AMAZING view of the beach. Waking up on my first morning, I was elated. Watching the sunrise over the sea was surreal. After taking a couple photos and Snapchats on the balcony, I hopped in the shower and turned up the tunes.
Being a solo trip, I had to pack my selfie-stick to get photos that actually have me in them – haha!
The AirBnb was definitely to big for one person, however I enjoyed playing music to get me in the mood and dancing around the apartment. Honestly, I just felt like “THAT BIHH”.
CHUKKA CARIBBEAN – BEST OF THE WEST TOUR
While I was in Mobay, I had a tour with Chukka Caribbean which I was really excited about. It was great opportunity to meet new people and explore what Jamaica has to offer.
The first activity was zip-lining. This was great as it got everyone out of their comfort zones and helped break the ice. I love zip-lining so it was a great start to the adventure. We then headed down to the river for tubing while our guide shared some Jamaican history with us.
Lunch time! One of my favourite times of the day. We were welcomed back to base with a rum punch and then sat down an authentic Jamaican lunch, jerk chicken and festival.
The highlight of the day and potentially my time in Montego Bay was definitely the Chukka Caribbean – Ride ‘n’ Swim. I had rode a horse twice before, so I was excited and nervous. After riding a horse on both land and in water, you can call me Ashliana Jones – haha!
Just riding through the sea, living my best life (check my highlights on Insta)!
LIFE’S A BEACH
While in Montego Bay, I was staying directly across from Doctor’s Cave Beach. How could I not pop a bikini (tankini) on and head for the waters.
Although I am not a swimmer, I LOVE being in the water. There is something about being in the sea that is so freeing and relaxing. Initially, there was some overcast, but lucky for me, by the time I got to the beach it had past and the sun was shining.
I had a couple days in Mobay and just touched on what to do to live your best life out there. There are so many different tours and adventures, more beaches and of course, lots of parties. If you are looking for somewhere to travel solo, live your best life and with multiple activities to do – take a trip to Montego Bay.
