Back in March, I spontaneously decided to book tickets to see Stormzy in concert. His London shows were sold out, so when I saw Paris on the 19th May (day after my final exam) – it was a SIGN! I then booked my train tickets and was ready to embark on my little Parisian adventure. I was lucky to have my stay hosted by the amazing Hotel Sacha by Happy Culture. After work on the Thursday evening, I had a nap until 1am and then got up showered, packed and then headed from Uxbridge to St Pancreas Station. Took a good 1.5 hours, but it wasn’t cold and I was rocking out to Daddy Yankee, Maluma and Shakira so it was all good.
I was lucky that no one was sitting next to me on the Eurostar so I was able to stretch across two seats and have a decent sleep.
And we arrived…
I got off the train and headed straight to Hotel Sacha, I knew how to navigate around the Metro because of my trip last year, so I arrived quite quickly and hassle free. One thing I forgot was day bag and so I trotted around looking for one. Silly little Ash, rather then dropping my suitcase off at the hotel and then looking for a day bag, I ended up trotting all around Paris with it. It wasn’t heavy, it was just long to drag around.
Note to self, don’t do that again – haha.
I hadn’t eaten since about 5am, so I decided to go and get some lunch around 2pm – too many hours without food haha. I stumbled across this cute restaurant called Le Paradis and the food was amazing! It was my first time tasting escargot bourguignon – in English, SNAILS! It was surprisingly super yummy! I wish I opted in for 12 and not 6. For my mains I had steak and finished off with creme brulee.
Time to get to Hotel Sacha and see where I will be spending the night.
I received an extremely warm welcome from the hotel’s manager who shared all the exciting things that the Happy Culture brand have to offer. If I had known before I booked my train tickets, I would have definitely stayed longer.
The decor at Hotel Sacha was really quirky and had a theatre theme to it. My room was the yellow room, which I loved and it had great lighting (a must for all bloggers – haha).
After chilling for a while, I hopped into the shower and started getting ready for the evening ahead.
The concert was INCREDIBLE. Opening the show was Scandinavian singer Cherrie, although I didn’t understand what was being said – I still enjoyed it and she put on a great performance. Next up was Lethal Bizzle. I have seen him performance twice before and he brought the fire! And of course… Stormzy himself. First time I have seen him perform and it was AMAZING. The energy he brought was incredible and at the end he was saying thanks to everyone and giving out hugs which was so sweet. Me being a fan girl, asked for a hug as well LOL. It was an amazing night and I would love to do it all over again.
The next day, I was just out and about. I wanted to visit Montparnasse Tower and see the panoramic view of Paris. It was breath-taking and I am sure at night it is magical. I then popped onto the train to the Eiffel Tower and then had a little wonder around. I love just walking around when travelling, rather then hopping in taxis or transport all the time. I love little adventures.
I obviously lost track of time, so it was a race back to the hotel and then an Uber to Gare du Nord train station.
I ended up missing my train because check-in closes 30 minutes before departure – yeah it was not fun – all part of the adventure haha.
After boarding the train and scoffing down some McDonalds, I was jamming to some Despacito and flicking through my photos from the trip.
Had an amazing time in Paris and I discovered some little gems to put on my itinerary for the next time I’m there. I definitely would like to spend more time in Paris as there is definitely more to Paris then the Eiffel Tower and the Musee du Louvre.
